All of us who teach at Ultraflight are united by our love of flying and the satisfaction we get from passing on that love and sense of fun to others. Roy White (CFI)
Roy grew up in the local area of Abbeyshrule and now lives quite near the airfield. He has flown Microlights at Abbyshrule since 1997 and has over 600 hours on UFM 10 and UFM 11 aircraft. Roy's love of flying led him to train for the British foot-launched Microlight licence in France BMMA. He owned and flew over 40 hours on a Powered Parachute before earning a PPL(A) and PPL(M). As well as flying a variety of microlights Roy has also flown Cessna 152, 150 Aerobat, 172 and PA28 Tomahawk. Roy is an Electrician and works for the Kepak Group as a Maintenance Manager.
CFI Bob Linehan joined Aer Lingus as a cadet in 1978 and flew on various types, B737-200, -300,-400,-500, B747-100, Fk-50 and A330-200 & -300 as a First Officer and later as a Captain. Before retiring from the airline in 2010, Bob was a professional flight instructor in various roles for almost nineteen of his over thirty years with Aer Lingus. Bob is also an IAA Flight Examiner. Bob became a FI(M) in 2011 and was CFI of Ultraflight from 2012 to January 2017.
Niamh began her instructing career on C150s in Fort Knox Kentucky in 1993 and later taught with NFC at Weston for two years .
Niamh flew for eight years as a First Officer with Cityjet on the BAe146. For the past eight years she has flown a Phenom-100 business jet for a private operator. Niamh joined Ultraflight as a FI(M) in March of 2013.
Omar started flying in 2000 at Ultraflight and in 2004 became a Flight Instructor at the age of 20. He has over 800 hours on Samba, SambaXXL and Lambada microlights. Omar was recently promoted as a Captain on Boeing 737NG flying mostly out of the UK to destinations all over Europe. Omar still loves to fly and teach at Ultraflight when his roster allows.
Luis does electronic engineering and IT services for a living in his hometown of Madrid, but works from his quiet rural Irish retreat near Abbeyshrule, so he can get there quickly. Interested in all things that fly, Luis is a Part-FCL PPL/A pilot and an ultralight instructor since 2011. Likes to travel Europe at 2NM/min in his old Tecnam and has 800+ flight hours in a range of aircraft including Cessnas, Pipers, and Cirruses.
