PPL training - Flight club
The club was formed in 2002, with its stated ambition: To promote recreational flying at an affordable cost with state of the art microlight aircraft.
Based at Abbeyshrule Airfield, it is less than 20kms from Mullingar, Longford and Athlone, and only 1 and a half hours from Dublin.
With its own aircraft, clubhouse, hangar and services, the club is a fully self-contained training and flying facility.
In order to obtain your Private Pilot’s Licence you must complete a course of 40 hours of flying time. This will include 25 hours of dual instruction, during which your First Solo may be achieved. One of the most exciting aspects of the training is the solo-triangle cross country, where you will fly to and land at two other airports solo, before returning to base.
